Now, Now
Now, Now (formerly called Now, Now Every Children; which is what I still call them) are an indie rock band seemingly known by hardly anyone. They have a light, gentle sound for most of their songs but still pack the rock element. Lead singer/keyboardist/guitarist Cacie Dalager has the softest little voice, so if you don't mind those, then YouTube them (sorry for the short post, I don't have a lot to say about these people).

Metric
Metric is a Canadian indie rock band of four. I'd say their sound is like "slightly distorted electronic rock". I went to their concert in Victoria in November and they were great and so full of energy. They currently have four studio albums out and you can probably count on a fifth. You can also hear lead singer/keyboardist Emily Haines in the Young Artists for Haiti song Wavin' Flag. Anyway, while not very well known, Metric is easy to get stuck in your head (in a good way). All of their songs are very catchy and different and about things that actually matter. I think everyone I know that's heard them has liked them, so give them a try!

Evanesence
Evanescence is a five-piece rock band, currently working on their third studio album. Most of their songs have heavy guitars and powerful vocals, other songs are slow, peaceful, and somewhat melancholy with great piano playing by lead voclaist Amy Lee (actually her married name is Amy Hartzler). Amy has a beautiful voice, and Evanesence's songs are all very similiar yet very different. Their sound can be described as "gothic", "metal", and "symphony-like" all together. My favourite songs by them are Bring Me To Life, Going Under, and Everybody's Fool. Give them a listen!

Yo. This is my first posting on this blog. I'll use this blog to recommend bands, mostly of the rock genre, and review music videos and albums. There'll also be polls for people to vote on and such. It's pretty straight forward, so... see you in the next post? ;)
